China’s unique new raw material “Black Ginseng Extract” has been approved to pause skin aging with modern technology

The beauty industry driven by science fever is sparking a "chip making" movement centered around Chinese ingredients. In the process of leading enterprises building core barriers with exclusive raw materials, traditional Chinese herbal ingredients with distinct Chinese labels, good market education, and years of efficacy verification have become research and development breakthroughs for some pioneering enterprises.
Black ginseng extract is a unique new raw material in China
Black ginseng extract, as the name suggests, is an active ingredient extracted from black ginseng and is a unique new raw material in China.

"The reason why black ginseng extract is called a unique new raw material in China is mainly because it has distinct Chinese characteristics in terms of raw materials, preparation technology, market, efficacy, and other aspects," said Dr. Mu Feng, the head of basic research in Shuiyang Biology.

Firstly, from the perspective of raw material origin, the black ginseng extract is selected from Changbai Mountain ginseng from Fusong Town, the hometown of ginseng.

Fusong Town is located at the foot of Changbai Mountain, benefiting from its unique geographical location and environmental climate. The ginseng grown in Fusong Town in Changbai Mountain has excellent quality, higher content of active substances, and accumulates sufficient nutrients.

Secondly, from the perspective of preparation technology, black ginseng raw materials are processed through the traditional Chinese ancient method of "nine steaming and nine sun drying".

When it comes to black ginseng, many people may be unfamiliar with it. In fact, it is a processed product of ginseng, the "king of all herbs", and is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine. Although ginseng is classified according to its origin, there are mainly three types of ginseng: white ginseng, red ginseng, and black ginseng due to different processing methods. Among them, black ginseng needs to be processed through the process of "nine steaming and nine sun drying", and the black ginseng extract of Shuiyang Biology not only follows the traditional process of "nine steaming and nine sun drying", but also combines modern technology - molecular sieve technology, achieving high concentration enrichment of rare ginsenosides. It is understood that Shuiyang Biotechnology has applied for a national invention patent for the process and application of black ginseng extract, and has also obtained authorization.

Again, from the perspective of market applications, there are currently more applications of white ginseng and red ginseng in the market, with less research on black ginseng, and it has not yet been applied in cosmetics.

"White ginseng and red ginseng are widely studied and applied, and are well-known to the public. However, black ginseng is currently less studied. The nine steaming and nine drying process can improve the conversion of rare ginsenosides, and has not yet been applied in cosmetics. This is the world's first research and development, and may have unexpected effects in the skincare field," said Dr. Mu Feng.

Finally, from the perspective of efficacy research, black ginseng extract is developed based on the anti-aging needs of Chinese women.

Research has found that the stratum corneum of Chinese women is thinner and their skin is more sensitive, making sensitive skin very common among Chinese women. Inflammatory aging is also a major problem behind the aging of Chinese women's skin. Black ginseng extract, due to its unique rare saponins, has extremely strong pharmacological activities such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, neuroprotective, immune regulatory, etc. It also has skincare effects such as soothing, anti photoaging, and whitening.
